ABOUT
Coralie Vernon
Coralie recently returned to writing, publishing and promotion after a segue through charity fundraising, research, education and sales. It builds on her past experiences in the education and arts sector (as an educator, coordinator, director, casual teacher and publicist), and has broadened her understanding of audience.
As a writer, the arts publications she has contributed to in the past include: Campaign Australia; Craft Arts International; TAASA Review; SMARTS; Ceramics – Art and Perception – Technical; and Dance Australia. The business publications she has contributed to include: Worksafe (Workcover Authority); Australian Training, and Australian Entrepeneur.
Coralie's first job in publishing was with prestigious fine arts greeting card publisher House of Bodleigh. Some years later she produced newsletters for a variety of educational organisations including TAFE NSW, Le Cordon Bleu and OTEN as well as the ACCA International Accountancy Association. Her publicity work nurtured cultural organisations (The Australian Institute of Eastern Music, Australian Dance Network) an independent art school (The School of Colour and Design Australia – now ISCD - International School of Colour and Design) as well as a variety of world musicians and dancers. She has also provided business writing services for diverse Australian companies in industries ranging from interior renovations and feng shui to educational toy manufacturers and household electrical stores.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, a Diploma in Education (Primary) from the University of Newcastle, and vocational training in Public Relations from the Sydney Institute of Technology, Ultimo as well as undertaking numerous on line and in-service workshops in Education and Care.
She spent more time in her middle high school years illustrating her exercise books than writing in them and made her first book by hand at the age of eight. She is currently studying digital marketing.
